Wonder how the name came out? No...not becoz of the Uno game you guys play...it was becoz we were talking abt bringing the council together as one...so Uno came about...n since pple were telling us about how the last camps had been physical *and doesn't seem to bring out the best in the campers?? Wha??*
this camp was less physical, and had focused more on the inner self...
Day 1 (One Self)
Things start with me reaching Pasir Ris and finding no one except Farhana there...was hungry but a lil too late to ask pple to get me food...nvm...Farhana n I settled down at our so-called base...we then started to complete what I couldn't complete earlier...the name tags...Then, Zuhaily(Zul), Sadiq n Farzan(Zan) reached...Zul asked me to taste this Himalayan Tea (or something like that...) and till now, I crave for more....
After waiting for sooo long...the campers finally arrived...led by Hakim(Kim) and Hanif (Nif)...Heard Kim shouting at the campers..."Campers On Guard!!!" I think this is the first time I heard him shout...no bad...then activities started....
Everything was quite relaxed...games played were fun...dunno if they'd play the games b4... Blanket Game had an objective...n it was to act fast...the Whistle2's objective was to be able to single out one's purpose amongst many other purposes...get it??? tak faham kan? takpelah...act faham jer...
Somehow, b4 we checked in PA Campsite, I got a little pissed off at something...dun remember what it is now...I guess it had something to do with how campers are slow at doing their stuff...n I shouted at them...which, shocked not onli campers...but also Syarifah (SNJ)!! *tak percayakan??? Yes...I do get angry and pissed off...it's just, most of the time...I dun wanna spoil the happy mood...
After checking in...it was lunch...followed by a workshop...which was great...during the workshop, we were already looking for nominees for the best camper... SNJ n I decided to catch a wink somewhere towards the end...our mistake: we invited some others...haha...so we ended up checking the room out...so yah...we didn't sleep...
Then, after Asar prayers...we had station games...in which, I was in the same station as Kim...doing a game of Confidence...which kinda strayed out from the original plan...due to time constraint...somehow, after some time, I was pulled to do a survey on National Parks...kinda stupid...but I just kept answering the lady...and got a $5 NTUC voucher....
At night, we had war game...I was with Zan 'guarding' group D's flag...actually, just holding...the game got a little crappy as players decided to disobey game rules...but still, we tried to have fun...I was acting a scene from Madu Tiga... then kept shouting and screaming for nothing...my station had the Alumni with us...so we were kecoh to the max...no one came to us...until somewhere at the end, the other group formed an ally...so poor grp D had to defend their base like crazy....
Then it was the night walk...without realising...we were about an hour or so late...maybe it was me insisting that campers walk blindfolded....maybe it was the amount of casualties...maybe it was just the fact that time flew too fast...originally, it was supposed to be a pair thingi...then I thought, since we dun haf much time...we shall go in threes...but someone else had already given the order to make it the whole grp...it was no longer scary...not even if there wasn't any light... btw, I had absent mindedly sat on a bench below which there was a whole lot of ants...kerengga!!! They crawled up my jeans...was jumping up n down to keep them away... after all the groups had gone in...I decided to go in...mind u, I'm afraid of total darkness...I kept seeing things and hearing them...but I was surrounded by brave souls...(I suppose) and I was out safely after a few minutes....
Back to PA and it was lights out for the campers...organisers had some meeting and then it was literally lights out...dunno if u campers realised...even the aircon was out...but luckily I was outside...so, didn't feel the heat...was still doing work till about 3+ using the torchlight...SNJ was still asking me questions while I was already sprawled on the floor...dunno if I even answered her correctly...
Day 2 (One Team)
Woke up at 4.30am....barely slept for an hour...bathed and then woke SNJ and then the rest...after the Fajar prayers, there was the morning exercise...b4 which, I saw that my shoes macam dah nazak... so the girls had to take off their sock and do their exercise in the MPH...after which, they followed the guys in the run...
After that, they had foosball...fun but becos the number of able bodied players per group is so little...the game wasn't as fun as the one I played during my schooling years... after that...everyone was given 45 minutes of free and easy...the girls, including me decided to have a netball game...it was the non-3A vs the 3a...I think somehow...I was quite energetic then...with less audience and nothing keeping me from running ard...it was exactly what I did...run like I never ran b4...jumped here and there...n was shouting for the ball every now and then...n the best thing was the fall...yes...I fell and landed on my left bump!!! Correction...I landed on the packet of tissue papers...it was in my pocket...and the packet burst open giving a loud bang sound...I was on the floor laughing hard when everyone came to me..."teacher, teacher ok tak???"
Then it was Ustaz Abu Bakar's lecture...after some time...SNJ n I decided to take time off...went to the bunk and fell asleep...*we had an hour's sleep the nite b4 remember?
Feedback was that the talk was good and useful...after that, the campers had their cycling...also something that wasn't as planned...
Finally, came the so-called amazing race...this time...it's not like the usual 6hr race...not enuff man-power...so we changed it to one where they must plan their own route...n then unscramble to find the last pit stop...
After that was BBQ..tell me...what kind of training camp is this? siap ngan bbq lagi??? haha...but the fire wun start...so we had to do things first...everything was impromptu... then finally, everyone got to eat... thanx to Zan, we got to taste the chicken, hotdog and crabmeat... if not... I guess I wun get to taste the BBQ food....
Then, we had another meeting...after which we all fell asleep....
Day 3 (One Council)
I woke up at 3.30...everyone was still fast asleep...I went to haf a bath first...keep forgetting stuff...while bathing, I dropped my toiletries...kinda screamed...thought I must haf woke someone up...but I didn't...after bathing...I started to wake campers up...almost all the girls were ready when we decided to go out...found out that the boys were still fast asleep...
This day, I didn't spend time much with campers...until grp presentation...almost each n everyone was creative...I sure had a great time... then it came to a point where 7 lucky people were chosen to answer questions...in the end...Ubai gave the best answer...
We ended with salam ukhuwah, a bdae song to Afifah and lastly, grp photos...n then off we go...I was drenched while on my way to 853 bus stop...n the I slept all the way home....
Meanwhile...my mom's operation had gone fine...Alhamdullilah....
