Day three started with the subuh prayers (duh...) n then with some pple having to leave...sadly...as they can't follow the rest to Johore due to some problems...
So as the rest boarded the bus...some lady teachers and I took the car n left...went different ways to meet at the Macap R&R...b4 that, we went to the money changer and some shop to buy some titbits...
When we reached Macap, we were like an hour earlier than those in the bus...they were caught in jams I suppose...when they reached, they had their breakfasts...n then off to Parit Sulong...
We hiked up, or rather, walked up...took pictures and then hiked down...some got really dirty while sliding down some muddy area...I, took a much cleaner approach, perhaps less lady-like, and jumped down instead...after some walks and shouts (just to be sure we were on the right track) we reached our destination.
A lil wash up n then prayers. Then we had our lunch...the food was superb...yes, and superbly spicy too...(thanx to those who helped me to get more drinks to ease the spiciness) After that, was a lil sketch...a really funny one...I dun think any of the campers saw that coming...N then it was my turn...the teachers' forum...
I was quite nervous...in fact, very nervous...I wasn't prepared..well my exams just ended you see...but I think I did ok...with my loyar-burukness n lameness... I managed to seem less nervous...even when I was given a question that wasn't mine to begin with...At the end of it, we were supposed to wrap up the forum...I totally forgot about that...n I had to go first...shissh!! This was how I went, "Simpulkan? Saya nak simpulkan apa?"
Okay, that wasn't supposed to come out of my mouth...but it did anywa...n the kids were laughing...hahaha..at least they weren't sleeping rite? But I tried my best....
After that, some games and some snacks, and off we go...back to Singapore. After our dinner and prayers at Machap, the teachers in the car decided to go on our own ways...we went to Giant and did a little shopping. I bought some chocolates for my group and breakfast...so did Kak Rusydah...
By the time we left Giant, it was nearly eleven...I think...remember seeing the time when we were paying...think it was 10.30pm...we reached school at almost 2am...had a little wash up...went to the comp lab to check on the kids..n then sleep...
SWEET LOVE 1:58 AM ;
Sorry, this took some time to come!!! So busy lah...so here goes...
Day two started with qiyam...that was my first with MAI students...we woke up in the middle of the night...the senior boys took turns to become the Imam of the prayers...after that, we waited for the subuh prayers...
Then, if I remember correctly, they had some morning exercise n games...quite fun watching them play...(now I know how it looks from up there...watching the kids play)...after that was breakfast...my grp cooked some maggi n some milo, n while waiting, some of them had their baths...at first, we had to use the maggi packets as out stirrer...until our spoon n forks finally came...survival indeed!!!
Then came the fun part...amazing race!!! haha!!! It was cruel that the kids had to bring the luggage ard...luckily we teachers get to keep ours in any vehicle... the lady teachers all kept them in one fellow friend's car n she drove them back to school...so at least I'm empty handed n could carry the food n drinks for the kids...they were heavy...got a blister for that...but imagine the kids' sore legs n back after all the walks...anyway, while some groups decide to eat first, we decided we should move off...
First stop: Jurong East MRT station...as the kids realise that there's another grp with us...they said: We run...but teacher, u must run with us... haha I didn't...cos not everyone in the grp ran...there, they had to find where some buses go...n then do a stupid act...they had to crawl and shout for water...what in heavens do they think they're doing??!! Well, in the end the boys crawled n the girls shouted...what a scene!!! Luckily some of them covered their faces... I hid behind a pillar...
2nd Stop: Causeway point Banquet...had to find the total price of some food items...they did that in a blink...n then had to find something in some bag...which took fairly long...got their next clue...n it's off to Lala Land in the train...
3rd Stop: Fort Canning Hill...(I regretted choosing this location...didn't know they had to bring their luggages!!!) There, they onli had to find the place n take photo at some statue...the kids chose UNITY...as it had some links to our grp motto... some rested n had their 'karipap' while putting their heads together to crack the next code...
4th stop: Library @ Esplanade...Find some scripts and act out a scene... While they act, some did the dzuhur prayers...after that, we rushed back to school...by then we were only 15 mins to the end time limit...I can't walk anymore...so we took a bus to Bugis n changed buses to sch...jaywalked n reached school 10 minutes after the limit given...but hey! we were FIRST!
Cooking competition...hmm...we had the most boring dish...fishball soup!!! I can cook that ever since I was 10 or something!!! But without proper knives and ladles...the kids did extremely well...
Then it was some lecture where half the campers were asleep...can't blame them, the lecturer wasn't boring...but they were all superbly tired...even I couldn't help but to find a place to lean...
Blind folded games...where the waiting time turned into napping time for them...Then off they went to 'bed.'
Some photos... Think I'll post later...wanna go East Coast n haf Thanksgiving Dinner with my cuzzins!!! Haha...nope...it's cuzzin's day out...later yah!
SWEET LOVE 12:59 AM ;
When I reached, the kids were already pitching their tents... put down my huge bag n went ard scouting for anyone in need of help... until the other teachers arrived...
Followed the kids ard doing their stuff...playing games... I was amazed at how they used their brains in almost every game...I luv my grp...heh...
After lunch n dzuhur prayers, they had a lecture...an interesting one on dakwah and akidah...n then they had a hands on experience on dakwah...just that all they did was to interview pple on the various religion...for some, it was an eye-opener...for some, it was the first step to dakwah (kudos)...for some, it was nothing but talking to strangers...ish!
When we came back...it was grp cooking...well...my grp end up eating bread spread with tuna... cooking indeed!!! But even eating was fun...anything will be fun if you are amongst the right pple...went back to the mosque, did our prayers...ok well...some of the teachers went out to eat...heh!! came back just in time for a presentation where all my grp's stuff were with me...how lucky...
After that, as the rain stopped, we had night games n usrah...haha...my grp talked more crap than anything else...we talked abt our practice session at EscApe, the "Hanif" pose and how he seemed to have no fear (or feelings!), when one by one come back from their hunt...they relate to us what they did...everyone came back within like 5 minutes...except our dear leader who ventured far beyond the rest, thinking that if everyone had gotten their lightsticks, his would be the deepest inside...boy was he wrong...when he relate his experience to us (you should read his blog for this), Diyana then smelt strange sweet smells until I took out every single sweet smelling stuff that I had with me...then we had our own walk ard the park after that...then they went back to the mosque, wash up n slept...apparently, some pple got hungry... Sakinah spread abt 6 (or was it 6 pairs?) slices of bread for the 3 boys and gave it to them...(The next day Izzul complained that he only ate one!)
The only two pics that I have of the first day...kept forgetting that I brought my cam!!! These was during the presentation where I was just in time...
