The word "hijab" comes from the Arabic word "hajaba" meaning to hide from view or conceal. It is a very important issue to address. Or so I feel.
An Iranian school girl is quoted as saying, "We want to stop men from treating us like sex objects, as they have always done. We want them to ignore our appearance and to be attentive to our personalities and mind. We want them to take us seriously and treat us as equals and not just chase us around for our bodies and physical looks."
Islam has no fixed standard as to the style of dress or type of clothing that Muslims must wear. However, some requirements must be met. The first of these requirements is the parts of the body which must be covered. The second requirement is looseness. The clothing must be loose enough so as not to describe the shape of the woman's body. Thickness is the third requirement. The clothing must be thick enough so as not to show the color of the skin it covers or the shape of the body. Another requirement is an over-all dignified appearance. The clothing should not attract men's attention to the woman. It should not be shiny and flashy so that everyone notices the dress and the woman.
Hijab is not merely a covering dress but more importantly, it is behavior, manners, speech and appearance in public. Dress is only one facet of the total being.

I've been blog hopping for some time...n I realised...pple are talking about roses or posting pictures of roses...how wonderful!!! Roses are IN! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!!!
Haven't been updating for such a long time...Dunno where to start...hmm...
sports day? dah basi dah
but some things to clarify...Bersyukurlah, sekurang-kurangnya ada juga sports day.I know things got boring at times...not to mention, the unbearable heat...but can that be avoided? I dun think there are any indoor tracks around...or are there? The trophies...some say it's ugly...but how pretty can it get if the budget is such? Would u rather get notebooks and food?
ok...now to the more recent happenings...
the last netball practice...jeng3...hujan lebat giler, beb...when I left my house, it was pouring like someone kept pouring huge pails of water on my umbrella...I thought my new umbrella was going to give way under such heavy rain...luckily when I reached the courts, the rain wasn't that heavy...so the girls played in the rain...or rather...they played the rain...I would too if I had brought along extra pair of trackpants and tudung...then when the rain stopped...I decided to haf a shot at shooting...it's been a long long time...well...by then, I had already changed into my high heels...was going to change back into my baju kurung...but just for the fun of it...t.zubaidah n I decided to shoot...n the 3A girls decided to pour water on us...when I went to the toilet to change, the other girls asked..."teacher, teacher jatuh eh?"
with my trackpants, tudung and socks wet, t. zubaidah sent me to parkway parade to go to the bank...in her car, we were..hmm..scheming a revenge? Ok, I shall bring a bottle of water and pour it on the girls...esp Nadra, Aini n Khatijah...when I peeped in..I saw Nadra n Khatijah right by the door...but Aini, as usual...was playing around with the teacher's chair...saw someone outside...told her my plan...n asked her to make sure that Aini was at her place when I entered...cantik...semua dah kat tempat masing2...so I unscrewed the bottle cap...entered the class...grinning my usual grin...walked behind Aini..poured water on her...then Khatijah n then Nadra...MUAHAHAHA...the whole class cheered...(Dun rememeber if the boys were there though) but wateva it is...that was from t.zubaidah n me...and from the rest of the class whom u had bullied...kesian rip tau...
Syarahan...as c.kamalina was on leave, I took over for the syarahan, peringkat saringan...18 contestants were contested...some were wonderful...Khairin's was sooo funny...Luqman's was like a rally...future MP in the making...some lacked confidence...nvm...it's your first time...in the end, three were selected to go for a final round during Azkar...the overall winner, will be contested with other school's contestants and compete for the $1k prize money at Tampines Stadium..how grand!
Feelings...recently...I wasn't in the best of my moods...in fact..many around me wasn't...my niece keep skipping her ngaji classes...my nephew refused to come for tuition, claiming that he's tired from kayaking...my grandma keeps wincing from the pain in her knees...my mom n dad kept telling us to do this n that rite...my sisters being too busy to do housework...my friends stressed from having too many projects...students stressed from tests and homeworks...stress period for everyone....let's make du'a so that He will make life easier for us to go through... insya Allah....
Some venting of frustration...
Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Yah...I watched this movie with, Cha, Kem, Raccoon and the Simpsons...I once told my sis..."aku nak tengok The Simpsons with, our Simpsons ah"
Little did I know, that was exactly what I did! Haha! The 6 of us watched it at Lido...It was hilarious...really...kuning tu memang lah eh....dah kartun dier pun kuning kan...KUNING sangat2...but it was still funny...the so called save the earth campaign where pple go to concerts only to cause more pollution and also the death of the stars...tak pulak terjadi kematian bintang save the earth...there's still the touching part...father-son relationship...
I would say, this is not the best movie I've watched...but, it still, is worth the money...
Wanna watch Disturbia next...my sis said it's full of suspense...the kind of movies I wud love...

There's so much to say...my life, sports day (n why we use houses), what else ah?
I'll start with my life: Saturday...Started the day badly...wanted to haf sardine toast for breakfast, but ended up burning the toast...then I fell in the toilet when I was about to put my facial cream for the allergy...so my baju kurung got wet...looked for another brown attire (brown of all colours?!)...was late, so I took a cab to school...but there was a JAM!!! Luckily, from the time I reached school, nothing bad happened...had a lot of fun with some of the 3A students...went to popular sale then TM n century square with rifa, fifa, adlina, nadhrah, dija, mahirah, faeezah n aini...mahirah then accompanied me to the metro sale to look for shoes...there were sooo many pple we felt like we were in a sauna!!! Then I went to my aunt's place to give my niece her bdae prezie...It was cute how instead of my niece, my 3yr-old and 1yr-old nephews were the ones who were happily playing with the prezie...we all laughed our hearts out...
All the other days were the normal sch days...English lessons this week were all games presentation...Alhamdulillah they had their fun...Friday was my English rep, Nurul's last day...will miss her bubbly nature...
On Thursday, I went shopping for....a shaver for my dad...I have no idea which is good...had to call Rai n ask him about shavers...gillette's good, he said...so gillette's it will be...when I went to find a gillette's, I realised that there were many many gillette's!!! Called Rai again...n he was laughing at me...n my dad, he now wished that he's got a son...well...haven't I told him that b4??? I wished he got a son too...then I haf a brother....haHA!
Ok...now about sports day...
Ever since the planning stage...b4 the teachers decide to use houses...we were wondering abt how the scoring system would be like...we dun want things to be about the individual...but abt the group...so, for the girls, we decided to have group games...some of them involves team building...some, confidence and creative thinking...and so on...I know some of the games sounds lame...But if u can come out with a game, that does not involve too much running or jumping ard for the girls, by all means, tell me ur ideas, and Insya Allah, we'll include them next time...
Abt the futsal game for female and none for males... the number of participants we need is almost tripple the number of males we have...as for the girls, there are some without games...so futsal was like a fill-in for them...at least all of them haf a chance to play...
Anyway, I'm sure many wondered, why not interclass???
Put on your thinking hats:
1: interclass would mean...more teams, less players
2: our sec three's...2 boys, 39 girls....they obviously wun get many points from the boys side... they can't even form a 4x100m team!!!
3: every other competitions were inter-class...It's time u guys venture out a bit...some of u pple haf been classmates for like...10 years!
4: when u haf no choice but to work with pple u dun noe, u either realise ur potentials or u'd realise how much ur frens mean to u...it's a win-win situation...
5: students were complaining that it's always the councilors ("asyik2 councilor," ingat?)...so we are letting some of the rest to show their leadership skills...it'll boost ur testimonial...yey!
Most of all, students from all levels and classes come together...that's one step closer to having the school coming together...n that's a huge step taken to enhance the school spirit...insya Allah
I hope this event will be a success...
