So we won the Asean Cup...Bravo!!!
The Lions did well in the finals of the Asean Cup...the sportmanship and spirit shown was really commendable...The rewards, they retained the cup and Alam Shah even won awards...
The game started off with, of course, the national anthems of the two countries... N the shaking hands of the two teams...smiles on the Lions, but the Thais looked a little unfriendly, maybe stressed, or perhaps still unhappy over the late penalty in the first leg.
After the whistle, Singapore 'scored' first sending my cuzzins shouting for joy...but false alarm...we were off side...we sensed that the Thais could probably be the ones to score first...which they did...with all the attacks they made...luckily we haf good defenders n keeper... else, it'll be more than one
Half time score was 1-0
The second half was more intensed...dunno y I decided to have my dinner nearing the start of the second half...many a time I spoke with my mouth full...disgusting!!! Khairul Amri subsituted Itimi Dickson...n it was he who was our hero today...he scored a wonderful goal in the last minutes...so wonderful that he himself looked a little shocked at first...CANTIK!!!
The whole of Yishun can be heard...wow...even my two-year-old nephew who came running to me covering his ears (he hates noises) shouted...of course he dun understand...heh..I told him, "shout goal cepat...pekik sama2..kita menang nie.."
It was after this that the Thais got rough...their counter attacks were worrying... Singapore just had to defend their way to being champions...the Thais, they would haf to score 2 more to win...1 to draw n bring the game to extra time or shoot out...they were panicking...we could see that...the Lions were pushed and spat at...but they kept their cool...*salutes
4 minutes added to the game...I was oredy at the edge of the seat...pls Thailand..dun score...towards the last minute...Jiayi was dribbling the ball near the penalty box when the game ended...to us, it seemed that the game suddenly halted...thanx to my 2 year old nephew, the tv set was almost inaudible...so wat we saw was everyone suddenly stopped running...then I saw the time...n I jumped up..."Kiter dah menang!! Kiter menang!!"
The whole of Yishun shook again...it was great...the last time I heard something like this was back in the early 90's during the times of the Malaysian cup...
We could see the Thais were dissappointed...who wouldn't be rite? But nevertheless...Singapore can celebrate...yee haa!!!! Congratz Lions!!!
