Yesterday my sister was telling me abt her outing with some frens...they were talking abt the severity of their vulgarities. One of her frens said that his was mild...but all of them heard him say 'mute' and so, they got confused. When asked to spell, he spelt it mild but said it as mute again...they all laughed at him and then they started talking abt ice cream...n this is what he said, " I eat ice ceam my jaw got porberm, eh probem" and all started to laugh again...
Which reminds me of a few incidents...
- During secondary sch years...dun remember which year. We had "oh my god, my wees are kneak!" (meaning: my knees are weak)
- Also during my secondary sch year...we had "my en no pink!" (meaning: my pen no ink) (actually, this is quite common in my cca)
- let me describe an incident here...during my active days, I went for a 3-day seminar... well in a small grp of 10..I was like the leader there cause everyone else was so so so quiet...then we had to do a sketch...we were given a theme(just a word actually and had to act out immediately) my grp came with the idea of someone just holding the theme and come out with sentences and the other kinda act out the sentence n since I talk so much...they made me the person and it was like I was the only one who had to talk...everyone just do what I say...well, in the end everyone just laugh while I say! Well the theme was sea..but I saw it as see! So I went, "I see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." the first actor did an act...then I went, "See you later, alligator." and some others...only towards the end of it...abt 3 person left...I saw the judges blur look...I looked at the paper again...I saw it... SEA not SEE!!! but I blurted "oh no! it's sea...the ocean!!" luckily for me, i've been doing my lines with some expression so they can act out easier...so my next actor thought that it was a cue for him to act...he gave this shocked but pleased kinda looked and pointed at something eagerly...as if he was shocked and happy to see the sea!!!
phew he saved the day...kinda...n then the next sentence onwards all had see and sea in them to try to cover up... our grp got highest for creativity...2nd for humour...somewhere at the bottom for acting...overall we got third...I did tell my grpmates that actually I saw the thing wrongly...well obviously...no one cared as we all had fun and didn't look too stupid!
And best of all...is the mispronounciation of words...pronounce itself being pronounced wrongly, keys being a long vowel e sound and not supposed to sound like kiss, matter and metal and many more...but what is the best of it is that...in primary six...while learning abt Sir Stamford Raffles and William Farquhar...my teacher told me that his name is not pronounced as Far-qu-har but far-kher...and I dun need to tell u what it sounds like, do I?
